- Just a little help picking out a second motorcycle?
So, I am about a month out of buying my second motorcycle. I went through the MSF course and have my endorsement. I currently own a Kymco Venox 250 and have put a season's worth of experience under my belt (where I live, that's about a 4 month's of saddle time). I made a few minor mistakes when purchasing my first bike, so I thought I would consult the general public and try and sort out what is best. About me as a rider: I am 6 feet tall, 150lbs, so tall and skinny. I have little issue with the fit of my current bike though just a little lower back pain from slouching in the saddle. My riding consists mostly of scoots around my college town, semi frequent jaunts along twisty back roads, and occasional multi-hour adventures. I spend most of my time cruising and like feeling laid back, but occasionally I like to twist the throttle and see what I can do. My current bike feels like it almost has the power a want, but falls short often. So, a between 600 and 800cc cruiser is what I am thinking. Price cap is $3500 used. Choices on my list: Honda Shadow VLX 600 (borderline too small, bothered by 4 speed trans) Kawasaki Vulcan 800 (hard to find in price range, but doable) Honda Shadow Spirit 750 (hard to find in price range, bike has hit or miss looks) Yamaha V-star 650 (bike doesn't really excite me, but doesn't turn me off) Harley Sportster 883 custom (near impossible to find in price range, don't really care about the culture) What do you think?
A Try the Suzuki 800 v twin, I think it was a Marauder. Simple, look good and cheap.
