- custom building an f1 style engine?
ok so i want to know how i would go about building this or if it is even possible. i really want a v8,v10, or v12 that can rev up like a f1 style engine, hopefully past 13K rpms. put it in a light weight car like 2K lbs or something. my idea about modifying an old engine got shut down so ill try my next idea. can i build a custom block, or modify an old block, to accommodate new motorcycle engine parts. those newer engines can rev to 18K+ rpms. like if i used bike rods, pistons, valves, etc. had a custom light weight crank made and balanced. had the stroke like 40mm cause thats roughly what f1 engines and some bikes have. like if i have a v10 or something with gsxr 750 pistons and the same throw as the normal bike, i would have a 1.9 liter engine, could bore it out too. is this possible?
A Someone who has worked through the reliability issues associated with building the type of engine you are proposing is Russel Savory. He developed and built the engine in the Caterham Levante. I think at the very least you should contact his organisation for advice.

I've been thinking it would be fun to build a custom motorcycle using an engine from a 300ex or 400ex ATV. I can think of multiple problems initially, one of which is how to obtain a title to make it street legal. Could I buy a parts bike with a title and use it for my custom bike if I use some parts from it as well? Anybody done anything like this?
