Faq About Hd Parts Manual

Robert asks…

Is it possible to return a tv without it's box?

I am thinking about returning an hd lcd tv that I just bought, because it's screen is really fuzzy (not with just regular tv, but with my ps3 and blue-ray movies also). I don't have the box (I threw it away the day that I got the tv), but I do have EVERYTHING that came with the tv including all of the instruction manuals and all of the parts. Is it possible to return the tv without the box, but with all of the parts and manuals?

Power Problem with a Astar LCD HD TV?

I have a ASTAR LCD HD TV and the green light never stays on. I have to mess with the Flip switch in the back of the TV to get the green power light to show, but most of the time I do so and it just shuts right back off. I have to put force into the switch when I am pushing into it to even get a response from the Television but it just keeps doing this over and over, I've looked up info on it and I've seen similar inccidents but it says it is probably a bad capasitor for the power supply. If that is the case for me then why does it sometimes work when I push on the switch? I need info to fix this as well as a supply list for the items I will need to install and or remove. A repair manual would defintaly help especially one with photos or pictures. Plus a list of the parts needed. I am more or less worried about taking the tv apart and not getting it back together or it breaking all together. I can't afford to get it repaired professionally, I got the tv set for free from a friend of mine because he couldn't get it to turn on and couldn't return it cuz the company went under at least thats what he told me. Someone please help me out.

DON'T go near it!!!!

You can't even spell the components, let alone replace them lol (capacitor) (flip) (incidents) (what happened to spell check?)

There are LETHAL voltages inside a tv set, you stand a risk of DEATH going near it. It is NOT a simple job to repair a tv set, but takes years of experiencetraining.

Although it maybe the switch, but doubt it, it is too technical to explain. Get a trainedqualified technician to look at it! Forcingapplying too much pressure is liable to damage the switch, causing further expense.

If you cannot afford an engineer then you cannot afford to own the television! You got it for free!!

Amateur Film-Maker HD Video Camera?

I am entering my freshman year of high school, and I am taking a class called Broadcasting. In Broadcasting, we work with TV and Radio. Part of the class is making short films on a regular basis. I am looking for an inexpensive HD camera, that has options such as external microphone inputs, Manual focus rings, and manual aperture and shutter speed settings. Also, I can't spend anymore than $1000 on the camera.

Canon's Vixia HV line of cameras are awesome. I bought the HV20 for 400 off ebay some weeks back, and the quality is astounding. If you have a budget up to 1000 dollars, I recommend you buy the new one, the HV40.

Why is it good for the amateur film-maker? Because it can record in 24P, which means 24 progressive frames per second (which is what film uses; typical amateur youtube video and television uses 60i, which gives it a smoother bleh look).

It has an external mic plug on top, and you can adjust the focus, but honestly if you are working on a 1000 dollar budget then you won't find much. Consumer and prosumer camcorders work with deep focus lenses because its cheaper and easier. There are ways you can get around this, most pertinently being a Depth of Focus adapter (or called a "35mm adapter"). You screw it onto the front lens, then buy a shallow focus camera lens that attaches onto the adapter.

I personally paid 420 for my HV20, then 120 for a Jag35ST adapter, and then 55 dollars for a Canon FD 50mm lens.

On the HV20 series you can adjust the aperture and shutter speed (not both at once, but there is a workaround so that you can).

For more information go to www.hv20.com. I spent many nights reading up on the content. In fact, I'm amazed I've typed all this out for your simple question.
