I was thinking of wearing this, instead of my jacked w/ CE armor. Would it give me as much protection? I will obviously wear a shirt over it. I have a sport motorcycle. kawasaki 750

What kind of motorcycle clothing is best?
My boyfriend has recently purchased an off road bike and I am looking to buy him all the motorcycle gear required for his birthday! But I dont know where to start! HELP!
I know he needs everything (apart from a helmet) but what exactly does this consist of? If I got him body armour, does he still need t-shirt to go over it. My budget is around £200 for everything. Whats the best make within my price range? and where is best to purchase it?
I have looked on ebay.... but how do I know that it is good stuff? I know he wants a black and white colour scheme. HELP!!!!!!!

First consider your climate he will ride in, if he will get hot then cooler gear will be needed. Riding off road Jeans are ok and a loose cotton type long sleeved T shirt,preferably in bright colors for visibility. Good gloves and boots are a must to protect hands and feet, perforated gloves for a hot climate. Light weight with Velcro around the wrists. Boots should be solid but not rigid racing type boots.
Your local bike shop may be the place to start but Ebay seems to have reasonable gear and a bit cheaper, quality is ok for trail riding.

Business casual pants for motocyclists?
My work requires business casual (slacks, collared shirt, and no jeans). The problem is that I am more comfortable wearing jeans+fully armored riding jacket when riding my motorcycle to work(I usually wear full leathers though, but I cannot and do not have a place to store my full leathers at work while changing into acceptable work clothes). I do have underbody armor for when I am not wearing my full suit, but they will not work with slacks (ie dockers).
Is there a pants available that are as thick as jeans, yet fully acceptable to pass off as business attire?
The pants have to fit under my body armor as well...

I have one liter sport bike that I ride to work to. I have found that Eddie Bauer slacks are as thick as jeans and are fully acceptable business attire. You can even get them in boot cut straight leg (no pleats). They are kind of pricey but if you sing up for the email sales you can get them buy one get one half off at certain times of the year.
