- Can I convert a Harley belt drive to chain drive?
I have an 2005 Road King and want to convert. Actually my mind is made up. The shop said it can be done. He said however more dirt will be thrown around under the saddlebags. Somebody I know said the chain and sprockets will wear out every 20,000 miles. I don't believe that, I know with a little maintanance it will go a LOT longer.
A Tom, You have your mind made up so just go ahead and do it. Afterall, you probably know whether or not you can do maintenance on a chain, afford frequent replacement, enjoy the whining and slapping of a chain. You know Harley engineers designed their bikes for smooth dependable use for the majority of their customers. You just want to be different. That's what makes Harleys so cool anyway are the differences their owners make to them. Customize it for your riding pleasure. Ride it like you stole it.

- How to align a harley engine,transmision, and primary belt drive?
I have a BDL bolt in belt drive on 1995 softail. I have problems with the belt walking. I have a stock trany, inner primary cover, and engine all Harley Davidson.
A in the bdl kit there should be instructions tell you how to align the belt, it is usual just using the correct shims. You could check their web site also. I thin it is http://www.beltdrives.com www.blacklistedcustoms.com
