- Harley fuel managment system choice.....?
I have a 2009 Road Glide ( yeah me, Im 51 years and have worked hard all my life. I deserve it ! ) I have a Screaming Eagle air cleaner and a Thunderheader pipe. What is the best fuel managment system managment choice SUPER TUNER or PowerCommander or what..........
A Stay away from Power Commanders!!! For the last few years, I have been STRONGLY advising people to stick with the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner and having it dyno tuned. For the average street bike, it was the BEST option available, nothing to add to the bike, nothing to mount, etc, it simply reprograms the stock ecm for EVERY system control of the ecm. For higher ouput engines, the ThunderMax System was the best option.....note I stated "was" twice.... I have recently been introduced to a relatively new company called Revolution Performance. I have built several engines using their big bore kits and head and crank service work. THIS COMPANY IS OUTSTANDING!!!!....THE BEST CYLINDERS ON THE MARKET...HANDS DOWN!!!. Revolution recently introduced a new injection tuning system that I have used 3 times now and I can testify IT WORKS....and no dyno tuning needed!!!!! You simply order the tuner kit, send them your stock ecm for them to reflash it, reinstall the ecm, install the tuner, follow the instructions on an initial start-up and mating procedure and that's it. It constantly monitors what the engine is doing and automatically adjusts the fuel/air ratio and ignition timing for optimal performance...it even auto-self adjusts for any engine mods done in the future. The system is around $850, but WELL worth it!!!...Just compare the numbers, $450 for the Super Tuner and $300-400 for dyno tuning, then in the future, if you make any changes, you will need re-tuned...and a simple bolt-in cam change it STRONGLY adivsed...the stock cams are CRAP, extremely weak due to EPA restrictions, about 12-15 hp & tq can be gained with even the mildest of bolt-in $300 cams!!! Check out Revolutions site and read up them and their products...they are the ONLY big bore kits I use now and their tuner has proven to be a winner now also. http://revperf.com/
