Who manufactures the dipstick type oil temperature gauges like those used in Harley oil tanks? I need a custom length and have concluded the stem cannot be shortened. I am interested in speaking with a manufacturer to see if I can get a custom length made.

They are the same price, they both look good, but I would like to know which one is better. Honda has shaft drive, better gauges and perceived reliability. Harley has the name , well it's a Harley, you know? But it has small gauges, belt drive, and well, I don't really know about reliability. Both models that I am looking at are 2008. So I want to know which one I should buy and why?
A K, I bought a brand new Sportster 883 Hugger in 2000 and I ended up hating it. It seemed really top heavy and hard to handle/maneuver for me, but I'm 5'6" and not very strong so maybe that's why. Also, because the Harley is an air-cooled engine, it would tend to overheat if I was stuck in traffic on a 95 degree day. I traded it in for a Buell and I loved it. If I were to buy another motorcycle at this point, I'd probably buy a Honda.
