- Evo intake manifold air leak Harley wrenchers input requested?
I am a fairly accomplished mechanic,but have a problem with what should be an easy task. When I replace the intake seals (tappered O ring type),I have trouble getting a seal and often have to re-do 2-3 times to get it . Even then there is no telling how long the seal will last ,1 day, 6 mos. or what. I was wondering if any experience Harley wrenchers have any tricks or tips to help me be more successful, it's pretty annoying to do the same task over and over. Thanks It's not about saving a few bucks. It's the getting the bikes back and forth to the shop that is a pain in the butt. I can change the seals in a hour(just wish I could get them not to leak easier) Yes bill toyrider is a B!TCH I'll bet his Dad who sounds like a cool guy is dissappointed in him.

A Ride On. This is a problem that I've never had. I spent alot of time seaching through manuals this morning trying to see if there is a trick to it and could find nothing. I run Drag Specialty intakes on most of my bikes and have never had any problems getting them to seal and staying sealed. I always use a small amount of white lithium grease on them. If this is only happening on one paticular bike I would change out the intake, the original might have some small flaw in it that you're not seeing.Good Luck.
