- How to carry four handguns to the indoor range on a motor scooter?
I have a early Honda Insight Hybrid. I also have a Moto Guzzi California motorcycle. I was shocked to learn my Moto Guzzi doesn't get much better mileage than my Insight. I am very environmentally conscious, and I want to lower my carbon footprint, and be part of the solution, and not part of the problem. I also realized that I can take advantage of my very small size. I am five foot four, 118 pounds. So I recently purchased a rebuilt Vespa 49 cc motor scooter (stock photo) http://49ccgasscooter.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/s50-01-1024.jpg So I drive from my house in Echo Park Los Angeles, to the Indoor Range in Burbank. I normally take four guns. My Used Spanish Super Star Model B in .38 (my big under the pillow gun). My Makarov 9 x 18mm ( my wrapped in a towel under my front seat gun.) My Walter PP in 7.65mm (my walk around the house gun). And my Browning .25 ACP lightweight. (My stop and frisk gun) I normally go to the range, fire each gun five shots with the right hand, and five shots with the left. If they all go in the black at the farthest setting, I am happy and go home. Problem: The scooter has no back locking storage thing. I don't want to spoil the clean lines of the scooter by putting one on. I normally need to take only forty rounds, so I can put those in baggies and put them in a tiny under the seat compartment. But the handguns won't fit there. So I normally put all the guns in a back pack I wear. I have four trigger locks that all take the same key. So normally what I do is take the slide off the guns, put the slide/barrel in one clean gym sock, and the frame in another gym sock with a trigger lock on. The gym sock is to prevent scratching. Then I put each gun in a soft gun rug or case or whatever you call it, put all 4 gun rugs in my back pack. So the ammo is separate in a little compartment, all the guns have locks, and all the guns have the slides take off. You think the police will have a problem with that if I get stopped?
A Hi Newell! I don't think you'd have any issue at all. Just don't forget one in that pack,if you use it for school too! :)
