- What are good overpants for my winter motorcycling habits?
I live in Minneapolis, MN. The winter temperature can get pretty low, I drive down to about 15 or 20 degrees. I drive a Honda Ruckus, which goes about 42 mph, through the winter. I am looking for a good pair of pants for my legs. Last winter I experimented with my snowpants (good, but too hard to remove), long underwear/tights (wind still got through), a pair of dorky pants (not removable, dorky),and just biting the bullet (dangerously cold). I'm now anticipating the next winter and am looking for warm, windproof overpants that have full-length zips or snaps so that I can quickly put them on/remove them. This would not be an issue, but I am also less than wealthy. $100 is the upper end of my price range. What are good overpants for my winter motorcycling habits?
A Unfortunately insulated motorcycle riding apparel isn't designed for temperatures that cold, at least from what I know! My recommendations would be purchasing snowmobile bibs. Whats great about snowmobile bibs, they come up high both front and back to protect your stomach, chest, and back from cold drafts! You mentioned a price budget of $100, there is a really great pair of bibs I'd strongly recommend looking into, the HJC Standard Edition Bibs. They feature waist high zippers on the pant legs and snap button shoulder straps so they can be put on and taken off quickly with ease. I know how good these bibs are, I own a pair! You can purchase them at Dennis Kirk for $79.99. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=353390L&store=Main&catId=302&productId=353390&leafCatId=30201&mmyId=
