- Where can I order/import chinese motorcycle engines ?
...that are honda design engines ? Like, clone engines, the parts should interchange. The idea is to buy them cheap and then put performance parts in them that are meant for a "real" honda engine. I have one myself, a 90cc "panterra" chinese brand dirtbike that is actually a honda 86cc motor. I can buy a honda 86cm3 sized piston from honda and install it if i wanted to.

- Does fitting a bigger carb necessarily guarantee a performance increase?
Looking at the Honda cubs and the RS125s and the CB 125s around and my friends who are into motorcycles talking.I wondered if fitting a bigger carb on a motorcycle would increase performance.like a 32mm carb on a 29mm motorcycle.I am no mechanical expert, but my logic is simple.A machine performs more when you increase the input. My buds tend to disagree.they say it's useless. What do you guys think. My gist of my question is,will fitting a bigger than stock carb increase the performance of a motorcycle, provided that i upgrade the other required parts too,or will it remain the same,or will it affect the motorcycle negatively? thank you for your answers And Jhon change your password,it's too obvious Amir
A A bigger carburetor will increase performance (IF) the stock carb is too small, rarely is this the case. A better carburetor of the same size will definately increase power though, the 2 best aftermarket choices in replacementy carburetors are the Keihin flat-slide or the Mikuni smooth-bore, either one of them will provide better throttle response and power without increasing the size. there are several factors that can and usually do warrant an increase in carb size... engine displacement, camshaft lift/duration, intake/exhaust flow volume and ratio, maximum rpm, intended usage... etc. but you just cant slap a bigger carb on and expect a power increase without performing modifications to the rest of the engine and exhaust, on a 2-stroke engine the back pressure in the exhaust strictly affects max hyorsepower and width of the powrband, on a 4-stroke engine the exhaust back pressure also affects the air/fuel mixture
