- Where can i buy motorcycle gear?
I need to buy a new Jacket, helmet, and motocross gear, i just have no idea where to get it. What stores/websites should i check out? Stores are more preferable. I live in Sacramento, CA if it helps. Also, what are good brands i should check out? Please be somewhat specific, not just "motorcycle shop" or something like that.
A Cycle Gear is pretty good. 5400 Date Avenue Sacramento, CA 95841-2525 (916) 338-1649 Online check out Troy Lee Designs. http://www.troyleedesigns.com/ For helmets check out Shoei. The are about the best. http://www.shoei-helmets.com/ For boots go with Alpinestars. Really good strong boots. http://www.mxmegastore.com/Alpinestars-Motocross-Boots-s/608.htm My grandson has raced motocross since he was 13 years old, he is 21 now. What I have mentioned are the best we have found. None of them are cheap. You want the best. You have to pay for it.

- What style of motorcycle gear do I need?
I've signed up for the state motorcycle safety class, but I'm new to the 'riding a motorcycle on the road' thing. It's a whole new culture. I am looking to start with either a motard or enduro / dual sport because I have some gravel roads to explore, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to wear. I like the look of the ICON motorhead jacket in either all black, or possibly yellow to match the bike I want (suzuki drz-400). And also, what style of helmet should I use? Seems like I've seen dual sport guys wearing motocross helmets on the road, but I'm not sure that's as safe or comfortable, but a street bike helmet doesn't seem right either. You might as well just talk me through all the gear I'll need... thanks!
A Nobody has mentioned one of the most important pieces of clothing, boots. In minor spills, it's often the ankles that take the brunt and unless you are wearing good boots, chances are you will be on crutches. They also keep your feet warm and dry.
