- Is it possible to make a generator out of a 1970s 650cc Yamaha motorcycle engine?
I was just wondering if it is possible to make a generator out of a 1970s 650cc Yamaha motorcycle engine if put some sort of radiator on it?
A Of course you could. Here's a power head for it: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=45416 Attach a pulley sheave to the crankshaft and run a belt to the power head. You may need to experiment to find the correct pulley sizes - or if you are good at engineering you could do the math to figure out the ideal sheave sizes. And you could use a circuit from the generator to power an electric fan to provide airflow through the radiator. Edit: I'm not sure if that engine is air-cooled or liquid cooled. If it's air-cooled you might want to add an oil cooler and use a fan on the oil cooler and on the cylinder fins.

- During what years would the 60cc Yamaha Motorcycle have been produced?
During the mid sixties, I had a black 60cc Motorcycle(used) but cannot remember what year it was. I'm trying to get a Picture off the Internet. Do you know a web sight I could go to, to get a Picture of this Bike? My 60cc Yamaha was not a trail bike. I figure it was a few years old when I bought it, maybe older. Not sure.
A Possibly be a 1962-1964 Yamaha YJ1 60cc. http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/yamaha-yj1.jpg
